Broken Together
Here's a sneak peek of the sequel to 'Love Storm'. It's still a bit sketchy in places, so don't try to judge it so much :P Please comment me back and tell me how you think of it!
Lena was going to graduate from Harvard, but she couldn’t decide what she wanted in her life. Things were getting more difficult since the last senior year of Forest Creek High. During the freshman year in college, her father died in a car accident. Her mother was so depressed, she couldn’t talk to anyone for a year, and now Lena had to make the biggest decision of her life. What did she want to be? Her whole family pressured her to be a doctor, but she could feel in her heart, it wasn’t right. She wanted to be part of the arts. Not acting, but poetry, photography, and painting. Her motto was, “Life’s too short to do the same thing everyday.”
“Morning, Mikaela! It’s time to go to class!” Lena yelled.
“Okay! Okay, I’m up,” her roommate sighed.
“Can you believe it? We’re almost graduating!”
“I know! I’m so tired. I’m gonna go take a shower to wake myself up. Could you make me a small cup of coffee?” Mikaela asked.
“Sure…” and she left the large, neon room.
I’m gonna call Julie, it’s been what? Two months? Lena thought. Picking up her midnight blue sidekick, she dialed her friend’s number.
Texting, “Hey Julie, it’s Lena! How’s Yale?”
She replied, “omg! It’s been a long time! It’s good! Gradua8d early. I’m flyin in 2day, do u want 2 go shopping 2mrro w/ Jess and me?”
“u know it and congrats!”
“Thx! So how r u?”
“I’m ok. a little down…”
“What’s wrong?”
“Just thinking about things… Like Dad and gradu8n, my whole family’s crazy! They want me 2 go 2 med. skool. My dad always told me 2 follow my dreams. but idk.”
“You’ll know what u wanna do at the right time. Trust me! gtg, plane’s here!”
“Luv ya!”
“Luv ya 2! Ttyl”
After her literature class, she went in her silver BMW car, and took a drive somewhere to clear her mind on W. Walnut Street. In the dark, between those two main streets, W. Walnut and Maple Street, she saw a guy sitting on a bench looking at her. The rustling of trees and the wind moving graciously, he walks toward her. He seemed familiar, but in the misty fog and the shadow of him, she barely recognized who he really was.
“Lena, Lena Gomez? Is that you?”
“Yes, that’s my name…” Lena squinted her eyes and noticed, “What a minute… Jason?” She stepped out of her car and hugged him. She saw the sparks of light in the darkest evening that bounced off his gorgeous, moonlit eyes. Jason then kissed her on the cheek. She blushed and smiled. It brought back memories....
